How to Develop An Offline Marketing Strategy
February 6, 2012
The internet is a powerful marketing medium but it is only one of many. The internet can take you far but it is a mistake to not look into other ways of getting your products and services noticed. There is so much changing in online marketing right now that it would be sensible to mix offline methods into your business; not only will it become more stable but there are more opportunities available to market.
Marketing your business offline increases your potential client base exponentially. To advance as a marketer you have to learn to use every traffic source that proves to be profitable. So this means branching out to the offline market. Here are some tried and true methods of offline marketing that you can use to promote your business.
Using magazines for your ads can be profitable. Many niche magazines have classifieds sections. You can have your ad running quickly and for little cost. You may have noticed that I suggested placing an ad in a magazine instead of a newspaper: the reason being is that newspapers usually read stories that interest them and might focus on particular section such as sports and never even take a look at the classifieds; but, on the other hand, magazine readers are enthusiastic about the topic and will read the classifieds also. This gives you incredibly targeted traffic that is looking specifically for products and services like yours. Expect a huge income jump with this marketing method
Distributing business cards is good too. One tactic is to strategically place your cards in library and bookstore books that are related to your site’s topic. All it takes is for you to do is pull a book off the shelf shuffle a few pages, in conspicuously place your card in, and then return it back to its spot. Don’t worry – you probably won’t get in too much trouble if you get caught – probably nothing more than a strongly worded warning!
Have you thought about trying to purchase an ad on the radio? Unless you have a creative way to exchange or barter for radio advertising, this type of ad is not cheap; however, when you consider the number of people who you could be reaching, it’s often a sound investment. Think about how many people listen to the radio at work or while they are driving from place to place. If you consider how many people are listening to the radio at any given time, imagine how many visitors your site could get if only a tenth of them responded to the ad. That is still thousands of potential clients wanting to check out your services!
Offline marketing is vital if you want to see continuous growth in your business. Anybody can succeed with offline marketing as long as they use their imagination and are not afraid to part with a few bucks to test things. As an internet marketer you become used to spending so much of your time on the internet that you forget that everybody else doesn’t. Also, the more offline techniques you that you play around and they turn out to be profitable the more advantage you will have over your online competitors. If you are ready to leave your competition in the dirt then you have found a way.
