Finding a free background check made easy
July 26, 2009
Conducting a free background check online isn’t as easy as some ads would like you to believe. Whilst the Internet has provided us a huge amount of great tools for us to do our own our own free background checks, it has also opened the doorways to some unscrupulous firms and services.
A great amount of the background check online information is obtained by firms from free public records repositories. These sources of information are usually local or local legislature agencies that make their data available to the public.
The problem I have encountered is that a large amount of these corporations use old or poor data sources for their commercial websites. This worthless data is commonly worthless and outdatedfor the arm chair investigator.
One problem I have encountered came across frequently with services on the web is the old bait and swith method technique. These services will offer you free records and allow you search their records but the service will then want cash for you to review the data found .
Their are a few things you can do to make certain your not wasting your time with these poor quality background check sites. Your first step is to search the company on the Internet. Search for reviews by reputable blogs about the free background check services that you wish to use.
The other step I would suggest is to first, check if your local presidency has a free public records site. Many local and state governments have free records sites open to the public. These sites are usually up to date and provide really topical results.
Look past the flashy ads of these sites. If it appears too good to be true, than well it is. I have not really found a useful free background check so do not accept the hype thrown at you everyday on the web.
