Besides enjoying the scenic bayside view and a lovely diner during your train trip, guests will also delight in a wine tasting tour of the Newport Vineyards and an overnight stay at the Newport Inn and Spa. Luncheons aboard the Newport Dinner Train serve tossed garden salad and bakery rolls and butter for appetizer as well as a choice between BBQ baby back ribs, boneless breast of chicken with demi-glace, or filet of sole with scallop and crab stuffing. Other ntrees and dessert are also in the offing. For those desirous of a different set, a gourmet box luncheon is also available.
For dinner, guests are served with a selection of dessert and a choice between chicken Vanderbilt, sesame-crusted salmon, and award-winning baby back ribs. An excellent Rhode Island tourism attraction!
My Old Kentucky Dinner Train
If the Newport’s blend of old-fashioned glitz and modern glamour is not to your liking then maybe you’re harkening for a simpler but equally rich experience such as what Bardstown’s My Old Kentucky Dinner Train has to offer.
Guests will board vintage dining cars dating back to the 1940’s. Fine cuisine is served in traditional settings of tables for four. Safety regulations restrict smoking in specified areas and prohibit children below 5 years old from boarding.
The lunch menu consists of a three-course meal, with a choice between My Old Kentucky Prime Rib sandwich, parmesan crusted tilapia, and basil cream chicken for the main dish and fresh seasonal cobbler, apple dumpling, and the original Kerns Derby pie for dessert. The dinner menu includes an additional choice of roast loin of pork.
Both lunch and dinner menus include a choice among several hot and cold beverages, desserts, hot baked rolls, and the company’s signature Golden Spike salad.
Eggplant parmesan is in the offing for vegetarians while kids may choose from slow roasted prime rib and chicken tenders.
Shasta Sunset Dinner Train

Fremont Dinner Train
Take a train trip back to the 1940’s. Travel eighteen miles listening to the music of that wonderful era and tasting the best food Fremont has to offer. Sunday afternoon rides offer a casual atmosphere perfect for group outings while weekend evening rides are ideal for couples and more intimate gatherings.
Evening dinners start off with hors d’ oeuvres, tossed green lettuce salad, and cream of chicken noodle soup. Your choices for the main entrée are pasta primavera with fruit, plum duck with rice, and prime rib and halibut with baked potato, all of which are served with dinner rolls and glazed carrots.
For Sunday dinners, tossed green salad is served first, followed with a choice of pasta primavera with fruit, catfish fillet with rice pilaf, chicken cacciatore with pasta, and buffalo Salisbury steak with new potatoes and mushroom gravy, all of which are served with dinner rolls and ginger-glazed carrots.
Both lunch and dinner menus include an apple crisp for dessert. The Fremont Dinner Train also offers a remarkable selection of domestic and imported beers, house and bottle wines, sparkling wines and champagne, and wine coolers.
